A cartoon of The Out Of Bodies as drawn by Kr2nist!

Is there a God? That's the burning question on this really rough, never completed demo recording by Donald. Recorded with a mix mike fed into a boom box, this is how much of the Out Of Bodies 4-track material came to be. As you can guess though, there are many other recordings that never make it that far - and end up, like this song, buried deep within the Out Of Bodies vaults.

This is one of those demos that did make it to the 4-track stage (featured in our Hear The Music section). The poor sound quality in the demo is the result of pushing a boom box to it's limits. Using the mix mike method to add multiple tracks never worked out too well. Tape hiss, sound distortion - you name it. But still, it's a catchy little demo.

We wanted to be the Beatles... we'd settle for the Monkees...
...we ended up the Bugaloos.
- Dan Banic

Just about every band around has spoofed Beatles album covers - and The Out Of Bodies are no exception! Here's their album cover for an album that doesn't exist... Sgt. Pee Pee's Lonely Farts Club Band! Hidden, and not so hidden, are the Out Of Bodies themselves, their friends, family members, and some of their favorite characters (either real or fictional) - see how many of them you can spot! Then again, you can cheat by peeking to the right.....

A rare glimpse of Donald and Dan hard at work - recording demos.

Dan's got his own lyrical style... whether you understand it or not - dig deep enough and you'll usually find yourself nagged by two juxtoposing theories. Either he's not very concerned with lyrics and therefore pays them very little mind - or he intentionally leaves them truncated and scattered, giving us only a general interpretation of what's behind the music. Both Donald and Joe are big fans of his lyrical "Danny-isms" and have been known to recite some of them verbatim.

Another cartoon by Kr2nist - notice he even drew the Bob's Store t-shirt on Dan.

Donald wasn't very sure about this one, as you can hear at the end of this recording he says to Dan "I don't know what you're going to do with that!" - but it does reveal the fun these guys have when they get together for a "live" session. Intentionally to raise the adrenalin of the performance Dan cranked up the guitar and electronic drums ridiculously high, causing Donald to struggle with the task of singing lead. This only added to the amusement of Joe and Mark who were besides themselves while doing the "shallup-shallup" back up vocals. It was a train-wreck session... completely out of control.
